Like you, I am on a spiritual journey. Yours, though, seems much more active than mine. I'm inclined to just observe, to notice, to pay attention and to respond fully, to point out what I see before re-starting the observing, noticing and attending.
Lately I've been reading the book Why Christianity Must Change or Die by John Shelby Spong. His thesis is that the old Christian way of relating to God is outdated and non-functional and a new understanding and way of relating to the Godhead must be found. He shares the way he has come to experience God and it strikes me as similar to Buddhism. If you like to read, I think you might appreciate this work.
Thank you Annie, being raised as a catholic and engaging with buddhism, I cannot help but see the similarities.
As I heard someone say on radio today: "all religions sing the same tune". A book I recently read with a fabulous title 'After The Exstacy, The Laundry' compares different spriritual practices from various religious, cultural and spiritual traditions. It seems it does not matter what the (cultural or religious) context is, as long as you have a spiritual practice. I chose video/my sabbatical as my 'medium'. I havent left, wanted to start on 1st July, and the funny thing is, it has started on that very same day, without the need for actual travel. I feel very blessed.
